The Tick's Best Characters

The Tick reaches its 100th issue this month! To celebrate this awesome milestone we decided to rediscover some of the best heroes and villains from the classic comic series. Here are The Tick's best characters!

Ben Edlund's The Tick is one of the longest-running alternative comics of all time, reaching its 100th issue this month. First making his debut in 1988, the Tick is a hulking brute of a man in a form-fitting blue costume who roams the streets of The City with his hapless sidekick Arthur, fighting crime and generally being totally weird. The comic spawned a cartoon series as well as a short-lived live action show. One of the best parts about the series is the insane supporting cast. Here are The Tick's best characters!

Arthur

There is only one character who could finish this list. In many ways, Arthur is the real protagonist of The Tick. Sure, the titular character has the superpowers, but Arthur is the one who actually thinks things through a little bit. Formerly an accountant, Arthur went on indefinite psychiatric leave from his job and bought a flying moth suit at auction. Unfortunately, it looks more like a bunny with wings, but that hasn't stopped him. Also he has the best battle cry in superhero history - "Not in the face!"
