Wonder Woman #600 (DC) – The write-in campaign worked! Despite having a couple relaunches, the title returns to its actual numbering, with stories by Geoff Johns, Gail Simone and new series writer J. Michael Straczynski! Can you tell this is going to be a big issue?
Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper #1 (IDW) – Comic adaptations don’t usually catch my interest, but Robert Bloch (the writer of Psycho) is such a great writer that I’m 100% going to pick this book up. And who doesn’t love Jack the Ripper? Aside from 19th century British prostitutes.
Velocity #1 (Image) – Some ways back, Image ran a contest where they published teaser issues with lesser-known characters. Fans voted on their favorite and that character got their own miniseries. Finally, the first winner, Cyberforce’s Velocity, gets her books on shelves! Super fast hottie vs former science experiment hell-bent on revenge? Pick this up! X-Campus #1 (Marvel) – The X-Universe gets a jump-start by way of Europe! Some of the hottest talent from overseas gets the chance to revisit X-Men origins with a new series—that takes place in a superpowered high school! It’s like Saved By the Bell, the Mutant Years.

Whatever Happened to Baron Von Shock? #2 (Image) – Rob Zombie comics are a guilty pleasure. You’re never going to get a dynamic character study of the French middle class in the 1700’s, but you can always count on blood, gore, sex, and more than one wink to the audience. Baron Von Shock was a fictional kids’ TV presenter who’s telling us the story of his rise and fall in the world of horror television. I dug the first issue, and I’ll pick this one up too.
