It was only a matter of time since Taco Bell started selling individual bags of Nacho Cheese Doritos that some Mexican genius from on-high would conceptualize the taco shell made of said Nacho Cheese Doritos. It's a natural fit for Taco Bell, whose regular corn shell was woefully lacking in that it provided some whole grain nutrition.
The Doritos Locos Tacos, as they are currently being referred to, are being tested in markets across the United States, including Toledo, Ohio. Really? Toledo gets them and not us? DAMMIT! The tacos, which come with the traditional supreme taco fixins' (as if you didn't know exactly what they are, I will tell you from heart: "beef," cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and tomatoes) appear to be selling for $1.19 each.
Taco Bell has done colored shells before: black for the Black Jack taco, and red for the Volcano taco. None have harnessed the awesome cheese power of Doritos. Which leads me to my next question: will Taco Bell come out with a Cooler Ranch flavor and give us Dueling Doritos shells? Sign me up for a $5 Buck Box with two of each and a medium soda, baby.
If you want Doritos Locos Tacos to go nationwide, for the love of God, please go to their website's feedback page and demand glorious satisfaction.
So have you seen the Doritos Locos Tacos in the wild? Submit your reviews in the comments. Meanwhile, I will be making my own out of chips and Scotch tape.
Taco Bell Testing Shells Made of Nacho Cheese Doritos
Really, why did it take so long to invent this?
