NYCC 2011: What Not To Miss

Comic-Con could be overwhelming. To make things easier for you, we’ve narrowed it down to its essentials. Check out our guide: NYCC 2011: What Not To Miss.

The time has finally come! The annual New York Comic-Con is this weekend, and there's a lot to check out. Right when you enter, you're going to get an overload of everything you love: comics, video games, television, movies, toys and more. Despite being able to make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, it will literally be impossible for you to see everything over the course of the four-day convention. So don't be a total noob and show up to the event unprepared and without a plan. Thankfully for you, we've done the homework and checked out the entire schedule. It wasn't easy, but we've managed to narrow down the list of stuff to see while in New York City's Javits Convention Center. Here are the 11 things you won't want to miss at this year's Comic-Con.

Dark Horse

The publisher is going to give fans a look at what they have planned for 2012. Visit room 1A15 at 1:30pm on Friday to hear what they have in store for their dozens of unique titles. Dark Horse says they have a big exclusive for Star Wars and Avatar: The Last Airbender fans. That alone should suffice. Go or Greedo will shoot first.

Justice League

DC heavy-hitters Geoff Johns and Jim Lee delivered the epicness with Justice League. Now the two creative powerhouses, along with other great minds in DC, will talk to the fans about the best-selling title and other JL-related on-goings. Go on Saturday at 12pm at the MTV Theater, 1A10, to see why these flagship titles are worth your time and money.

Cup O’ Joe

The House of Ideas wants to hear from you. Marvel's Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, will once again answer questions from the fans during Cup O' Joe. Want to praise Spider-Island or rant about too many big events? You'll need to be at the panel Saturday, 5pm in the MTV Theater, 1A10. Passing up the opportunity to ask the Marvel Exec anything is something you'll definitely regret missing.

Booths

When you're not in line for an exclusive preview, panel, or class, you'll be roaming the floor with the hundreds of other fanboys and fangirls. Thankfully, the massive space is loaded with booths. If you're looking to spend some cash, stop by the dozens of comic book shop booths for great deals on issues. To keep current with your favorite titles, check out what the publishers are offering in their booths. And if you're a collector, definitely search for the newest and upcoming statues and toys on display. The force might be strong with you, but so is your body odor. Be kind to your fellow Comic-Coners and be sure to use extra deodorant while walking amongst them for entire days.

Autographs

The New York City Comic-Con is your best shot to meet the creative minds and actors behind your favorite comics, TV shows, and more. Some will scribble their autograph for free and give you the courtesy of a brief conversation, while others might force you to shell out some cash and push you away after a few words. Regardless of the experience, just remember not to gush too much.
