11 Better Choices for the Lost Complete Series Box Set

Gold boxes are cool, we guess, but these designs make way more sense.

It's been over a week since the Lost series finale hit us like a ton of bricks and whether you liked it or not, you can't deny that it's done. Like all the other Lost fans out there, we had pretty high expectations for the complete series DVD and Blu-ray box set coming out on August 24th. Our brains bounced throughout all six seasons with potential awesomeness that would end up sitting awkwardly on our DVD shelves. So, as you might imagine, we were fairly disappointed when the set was revealed to be...a gold box?

Yes, it's cool that the box comes adorned with hieroglyphics and includes an Ankh, DHARMA blacklight, a topographical map of the island and a version of the game that young Jacob and the Boy in Black played, but let's be honest, it could be cooler. Here are 11 possibilities we came up with in about 10 minutes that would make equally rad, if not better presentations of the complete series. If you haven't seen the full series, carry on with caution as there are definitely spoilers ahead.

The plane's the most obvious choice, right? The set could snap apart in the middle to reveal the full series in the front half of the plane with all the extras and special features in the tail. Extras could include tiny toy versions of the cast members, like a more adult Playskool toy.

Henry Gale's Hot Air Balloon

Remember way back in Season 2 when we were introduced to a little weirdo named Henry Gale who got caught in one of Rousseau's traps, handed over to Sayid and claimed to have gotten to the island in a hot air balloon? Of course, Sayid sussed out that this man was lying, that Henry Gale was a dead man from Minnesota, but that cool hot air balloon was still hanging around. The DVDs could easily fit into the yellow gondola area covered in Mr. Cluck's and Widmore Labs logos, plus a spring-loaded smiley face balloon.

Maybe wrapping the entire series of Lost in a religious icon that turned out to harbor heroine isn't the best idea in the world, but we still like it. Kicking drugs was a huge part of Charlie's arc and, even though he died a few seasons back, he's still one of our favorites, so why not celebrate this character-driven epic with a nod to such things.

Jughead

Weapons have always been important on Lost. Guns started off being a hot commodity, so hot that Sawyer would allow himself to get tortured to hide them. The biggest gun, however wouldn't appear until Season 5 when our time-hopping heroes came across the U.S. military who intended to test a nuclear bomb called Jughead on the island. Later, Jack and company would try to use the explosives in Jughead to undo time, which lead to the death of Juliet and everyone getting moved back to 2007. Perhaps an electronic countdown could have been included that, you know, doesn't actually do anything.
