This collaboration between Gearbox and IDW Publishing only makes me wish they did it sooner so they could've gotten up all ons Borderlands. Duke Nukem: Glorious Bastard will arrive in your sweaty lap right around the Duke Nukem Forever release, which IS going to happen this summer. Probably. Don't stop believing.
The mens behind it, video game writer Tom Waltz and artist Xermanico (that's one word, pal), also did the one-shot that'll be packed in nicely with your Duke Nukem Forever: Balls of Steel special edition video game treasure box.
The book will last four issues (as if Duke only lasted that long) and involve old stand-bys battles, babes, and beer-as well as time-traveling Nazi UFOs, pigs from space, and French Tickler, a French Resistance lady operative. No matter what kind of shenanigans it pulls, I don't think it will live up to my Duke expectations unless it gets hit with a late Adults Only rating. That goes doubly for the video game, though I will still greedily absorb both.
The first ish will be available in July for $3.99, though expect it to be delayed if necessary to coincide with the next inevitable DNF push-back.
