Yesterday DC Comics announced something that its fans and online speculators have been curious about since the iPad launched in April with a flurry of comic book-based apps for companies like Marvel and IDW: their own plan for digital comics distribution.
DC will be taking a two-pronged approach with their digital comics, offering services to iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone users through their own DC Comics app which is run by comiXology--as well as though the comiXology app and storefront--in addition to making digital versions of comics available on the PlayStation Network for viewng in the PSP.
Both formats will include a variety of books from the DC, Vertigo and WildStorm libraries with more being converted and available every month.
