WrestleMania Main Events

We look back at all the main event matches at WrestleMania.

From a 3 city all day event in 1986 to a hanged man in the center of the ring, revisit the main events of old and see where the WWE has come from and, in some cases, why we're happy they are not going back there.

WrestleMania XXII

Auditioning for the role of Conan in a future remake, Triple H came out on a throne and tried out his new gimmick as the King of Kings. Cena was not to be out done though, or so he thought. Playing off Chicago's history and attempting to get the easy pop from the hometown crowd, Cena made an incongrous entrance for the hip hop-inspired Champ. First, a group of gansters drove up to the ring in '30s style cars holding tommy guns, and then Cena himself came out to his entrance music, donning a trenchcoat and gun himself. This must have sounded like a great idea in theory. In any event, Cena was nearly burned by the amount of heat he got from the crowd. The match itself was fair, both men are good workers, and Cena managed to avoid two attempted Pedigrees. Cena countered the second failed Pedigree with a STFU and submitted the King of Kings.
