It has been announced that the Smashing Pumpkins will be filming a video for the song "Owata," one of the tracks off their ongoing album, Teargarden By Kaleidyscope. But this will not be your average/ordinary video, as it will star such renowned wrestlers as Cheerleader Melissa, Shelly Martinez, and Raven.
It will also be the first-ever music video to be filmed utilizing a piece of technology called "the Red Epic M camera." Supposedly, only such notable filmmakers as James Cameron and Peter Jackson (among few others) have utilized this technology.
In a press release, Mr. Corgan had the following to say about the "Owata" video (whose release date has yet-to-be-determined). "I have waited and waited to make the right video for the right song on Teargarden..., so I'm really excited that we are coming at this aggressively with the newest technology that's out there. With the concept we have at hand, which is based on brutal Japanese style of women's wrestling, we'll need to get super clear close-ups to tell the story properly."
