I saw a movie once about a character isolated from their life, observing it as they slowly faded away. It was loaded with truly innovative imagery, remarkable music and subtle, heartbreaking emotional tones. That movie was The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.

Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones has the “craft” part down pat – but it’s the story I have a problem with.
