Hey, remember that other Avatar? The one that can't legally be called Avatar but, in our hearts, is Avatar nonetheless? It's coming up surprisingly soon and, hey, it actually looks pretty damn fantastic.
The new, final trailer debuted today on Apple and it may be time to reconsider writing off M. Night Shyamalan as hollow shell of the man who gave us The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. The visuals for The Last Airbender are a far, far cry from the awfulness of The Lady in the Water and The Happening. In fact, that's nothing in the trailer that even screams Shyamalan's earlier films; it's one hundred percent its own thing and, for that, we should be grateful. After all, if Shyamalan suddenly goes from overdone hack to the master of fantasy, maybe George Lucas can pull the reverse and become the new Hitchcock.

Pretty cool, huh? Now all we've got left to worry about is the last-minute 3-Derization of the film. As if 3D could pay off for a film called Avatar.
