Empire has snagged the scoop straight from the mouth of Captain Barbossa that legendary English character actor Richard Griffiths will be on board for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Best known for playing wicked uncles in both the Harry Potter franchise and the outrageous comedy Withnail & I, Geoffry Rush claims Griffiths will be playing King George II, which confirms the story will partially take place in England this time around.
We also learned this week, via Softpedia, that Keith Richards may have his appearance in the new Pirates adventure axed after Disney brass became royally pissed upon discovering the rocker *GASP* did DRUGS! No, not Keef! It must be said that Disney punishing Richards for expounding positively about drug use when the star of the series, Johnny Depp, played Hunter Freakin' Thompson is just a tad hypocritical.
Rob Marshall's fresh take on the Pirates legacy will dock in cinemas on May 20th, 2011 in 3-D.
