While talking up his new autobiography, presumably with a cigarette in his mouth, legendary rocker Keith Richards confirmed that he will reprise his role as Captain Teague, father of Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
In the Reuters article Richards also says Depp hung out with his son for two years before he finally recognized him, refers to Mick Jagger as "unbearable", and claims he kicked cocaine only after his brain surgery in 2006. The miraculously alive and breathing guitarist claims, "I loved a good high. And if you stay up, you get the songs that everyone else misses because they're asleep." Words of wisdom, Keef.
Stranger Tides is currently shooting with Rob Marshall behind the camera, and co-starring Penelope Cruz as an old flame of Sparrow's, and Ian McShane as Blackbeard. The film, if she be seaworthy, will dock in theaters everywhere May 20th, 2011 (with the first trailer set to premiere in front of this December's Tron Legacy!!)
