What do you do when you have completed the final chapter in your movie trilogy, yet said final chapter grosses close to a billion dollars worldwide? One word: quadrilogy.

Not being one to leave money on the table, Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have set sail to make Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, currently lensing in Los Angeles.

Popsugar just ran some behind-the-scenes photos of a recent shoot, which includes glimpses of Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, director Rob Marshall, and our first glimpse at Ian McShane in full Blackbeard regalia. While the pic is a little blurry, we can see his big-bushy beard, his tri-corner hat, and a vague look of indifference. Despite the low-energy glimpse, Bruckheimer has promised that McShane's Blackbeard will be "the nastiest pirate ever", which shouldn't be stretch for the foul-mouthed Deadwood actor, this being his biggest vehicle since the HBO western was cancelled in 2006.

As for the tactic of rebooting the franchise with a new director, new stars, and a lead enticed less by a stellar concept than a dump truck full of money (more like a tractor trailer), it is difficult to fathom if the gamble will pay off, even with a smaller-scale budget of only $200 million dollars. ONLY $200 million? That's $100 million less than they had last time! That's at least 100 million fewer CGI crabs and weird fish/human hybrids. ARRRRR!

FUN FACT KIDS! - The historical Blackbeard tied lit fuses to his hat to scare off his enemies!
