At a budget of rougly $2 each, the Paranormal Activity franchise has grossed something around $2,000,000,000,000 worldwide. It's a bonofide phenomenom. So it's makes sense that Paramount would want to keep them coming. But the "found footage" nature of the franchise makes sequels more and more difficult to justify, while the closed-door ending of the first film makes forward movement plotwise almost impossible. As a result, we keep getting prequels from the franchise, with Paranormal Activity 3 going all the way back to the 1980s to see the main characters as little girls. With the prequel option pretty much exhausted, it's going to take some high-end creative thinking to keep the Paranormal Activity train rolling. | 11 | Paranormal Activity: Legacy |
We're going to learn more about Katie and Kristi's origins in Paranormal Activity 3, but what about the Paranormal Activity Demon itself? With Paranormal Activity: Legacy, all of its secrets will finally be revealed.
Assuming they have hidden cameras in Hell, Paranormal Activity: Legacy could tell the story of how the Paranormal Activity Demon came into existence and eventually escaped Hell by possessing Satan and making him stare at his bed all night instead of sleeping in it.
This one would be less a horror film than a heartfelt examination of an individual demon's journey toward self-discovery. Also, every horror film franchise needs to use the subtitle "Legacy" at least once.

The first Paranormal Activity film was just so scary that we all patiently waited until after the film ended to begin discussing Katie's abnormally large breasts. Were they a little distracting? Yes. Were they too distracting? No such thing.
Given the voyeuristic nature of the franchise, it's all too easy to imagine a Paranormal Activity 4 that focuses solely on Katie's breasts and all the great things that happen to them in that bedroom. Maybe Micah put up some hidden cameras he never told her about. The possibilities for this one are endless.

This genius idea combines all kinds of great things. For one, it finally brings reality television to the big screen without stretching the Paranormal Activity concept too far out of whack. But it's the celebrities that give this one it's true potential.
Ideally, we'd get to see all our favorite reality television stars as they're haunted and taken out one by one until the final contestant (probably Snooki since she looks sort of like Katie) is rescued by an exorcism performed by Dr. Drew. If that doesn't work, Sarah Palin can just shoot it to death and dine on its loins.

Why not unleash the world's leading (or only) deadite hunter onto the world's leading video cam demon and see what happens? Sure, Ash is old and fat now, but so long as his chainsaw hand still works and he remembers how to fire a shotgun, that's no problem.
Put Ash and the demon in a room, set up some cameras, and sit back to enjoy the ride. The first half need not be all that different from Evil Dead 2, actually, if it's just Ash being tormented by some unseen evil in increasingly funny ways before getting some hits in himself. The Paranormal Activity Demon has been getting by without resistance for too long anyhow. Ash will screw it up in the end, but it's still a fight worth getting excited over.

Many horror films find themselves in space at some point. Friday the 13th did it. Hellraiser did it. Even Leprechaun did it. Paranormal Activity might as well do it too.
It wouldn't make much sense, but that never stopped anyone before. And thanks to the failure of Apollo 18, the world is still ripe for an awesome found footage movie set in outer space. The best case scenario involves the Paranormal Activity Demon finally coming out of the shadows to do battle with aliens, but we're probably not that lucky.
