MMA Fighters In Movies

The Expendables was all about the toughest guys from all over coming together to whip some serious ass, so it's no surprise that they made room for Randy Couture. The retired UFC fighter earned the nickname "The Natural" for his string of impressive victories, and he set several records in The Octagon. He actually has one of the most impressive film resumes of any mixed martial arts fighter, starting with a role in 2003's Cradle 2 The Grave. Some of his other flicks include Redbelt, Invincible and the heist film Setup. He'll be seen in the upcoming Expendables 2 as well.

One of the most charismatic fighters to ever step into the Octagon, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson was a natural for a movie career. He first rose to fame in Japan's PRIDE FC, where his exotic looks and massive physical strength won him a big fan following. Since returning to the United States, he has found success with UFC as well as in a number of movies. His first major role was in 2005's Confessions Of A Pit Fighter, where he was cast as the brutal Matador. Parts in Midnight Meat Train and Never Surrender followed, but his biggest role was as B. A. Baracus in the A-Team reboot. He'll be back for the sequel as well.

Cung Le escaped the fall of Saigon just three days before the city fell. Only a small child, he relocated with his family to San Jose, California where bullying turned the introverted youngster to the martial arts. Unsurprisingly, he had a knack for it and started kicking ass in wrestling and kickboxing, whre he went undefeated. Le started his MMA career in Strikeforce before moving to the UFC to face Wanderlei Silva. His movie career has included roles in Pandorum and the live-action Tekken movie, where he played Marshall Law.

You don't have to be a killer in the ring to land a movie role, as Korean mixed martial artist Joe Son aptly demonstrates. Son, the inventor and sole practitioner of Joe Son Do, went 0-4 in the ring, suffering humiliating defeats to the likes of Keith Hackney and Joe Moriera. The acting life was a little better for him, as he landed the plum role of Random Task in the first Austin Powers movie. Unfortunately, things got worse for Joe as he was hauled in to jail for an old crime and, when there, killed his cellmate. So no sequels for him.
