Rooooar! You like me...Roar!. You really really like me! Roar!!
At the end of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope medals were given out to the heroes of the Rebel Alliance. Yet Chewbacca was conspicuously overlooked in the ceremony. Although he did get the last "Roar" in the movie, I think that roar was Wookiee for "Hey dbags, where's my medal?"
To make up for the oversight, MTV gave Chewie a Lifetime Achievement Award -- one of only three presented to a fictional character. The award was presented by Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher, in the form of medal, similar to the one presented at the end of Episode IV.
