The Iron Man director explains what it takes to mix an old school cowboy flick with deadly space invaders.

Jon Favreau on Cowboys, Aliens and Popcorn Flicks

These days, it's not uncommon for a famous actor to take their turn behind-the-scenes, manning the director's chair for their passion project indie. If no one will make the movie you want to star in, do it yourself!

Jon Favreau is a whole other animal. Starting out as a "That Guy" character actor (and a hilarious one at that), Favreau has transformed himself into Hollywood's a in-demand epic filmmaker, helming family friendly fare (Elf, Zathura) and his own billion dollar superhero franchise (Iron Man, Iron Man 2). Oh, and he still finds time to pop up in comedic supporting roles. We have no idea how he does it.

We traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico (more on that later today!) to visit Favreau on the set of his new movie Cowboys & Aliens, where we picked is brain on becoming directing mega-budgeted epics, working with legendary talent like Spielberg and Harrison Ford and how his alien invasion movie won't be like anything you've seen before...
