"I first met the Chemical Brothers at a rave in the early 1990s above a shoe store in London."
That's something Joe Wright told me and a handful of other online film people at a swank-yet-modest gathering last night in Lower Manhattan. We were speaking casually about the film we'd just seen, Hanna, my reaction of which is under a strict embargo. (I'm told Focus Features will retroactively charge me for the duck empanadas and brie I masticated with the ferocity of a wilderness-bred child.)
Hanna stars Saoirse Ronan as a child assassin raised by Eric Bana raised, so it would seem, for one specific vengeful purpose. That purpose manifests itself in numerous action sequences set to an original Chemical Brothers score.
Take a look at this clip to see young Saoirse bust out of a prison in a very booty-shakin' way.
Some people should never be allowed within arms length of a child. Keep this guys far from your offspring.
