The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans InstaReview

Nicolas Cage and Werner Herzog join forces for a sibling film to the NYC cult classic

Despite being an enormous fan of anything that shows girtty location photography in New York City, I always felt that Abel Ferrara's Bad Lieutenant was good-but-not-great. The whole Catholic imagery thing is ludicrous and, frankly, how much naked, moaning Harvey Keitel can one man take?

So I did not cry foul when I learned there was a new Bad Lieutenant (and, by the way, it is important to pronounce it "Leff-tenant" like you are British) coming down the pike. I was baffled, though, like all of you that the extremely uncommercial director Werner Herzog would make such a regular movie with an actor like Nicolas Cage.  But, hey, everyone's gotta eat.

Enjoy this vid, complete with Harvey Keitel impersonation.
