Skyrim's Best Steam Workshop Mods

The Skyrim Steam Workshop is finally here and it has already exploded with player creations. You can literally spend hours sifting through all the mods, so I've done it for you, and found Skyrim's best Steam workshop mods!

I've done it all; I've made a completely broken character using my Skyrim Overpowered Character guide, I snagged one of Skyrim's best companions and one of Skyrim's best marriages and I can only make so many wishlists about the Skyrim DLC we want. What now? What the hell do I do now?

Well, the Skyrim Steam Workshop sort of came out a few weeks ago, but what is that jazz all about? Well, how would you like a pet Dragon, new areas to explore and some Dragonbone swords? Yes, Skyrim has been given new life and there are limitless possibilities to the creations uploaded and found in the workshop.

I've sifted through hundreds of these player mods for you and found the best of the best that you should install this instant. Happy modding!

Dwemer Buster

If Mega Man was the Dovahkiin, he would need some sort of Mega Buster, would he not? Enter the Dwemer Buster. Those little Dwemers know a thing or two about technology. Even in the olden world of Skyrim, Dwemers were making robots, texting and watching cable TV, albeit basic cable. Leave it to them to develop a way to make a small arm cannon that shoots destructive magic.

They must have been playing way too much Mega Man in their underground cities.

The One Ring

One does not simply walk into Whiterun. Well, actually, I walk into Whiterun all the time. With this mod, you'll discover the cruel fate of ol' Frodo, just outside of Whiterun. His dead body can be found, still in possession of the One Ring, Sauron's ring of power from The Lord of the Rings. What killed him? A Dragon? A mammoth? A wolf? Who knows? What I do know, is that this weakling does not deserve my respect, and I am looting the shit out of his body.

Put on the ring, get a massive sneak bonus and a cool hidden effect and go to town, figuratively and literally.

Item Sorting

Item Sorting is more function-oriented and revamps the inventory screen into a much more in-depth and organized version. It changes names of certain items in the game so they can be sorted and found more easily and groups items of the same category together. Now you'll be able to find quest items, books and potions quickly and efficiently.

Nothing is worse than thinking you're drinking the right potion and getting a mouthful of poison. Download this mod and avoid Dovahkiin-sized stomach pumps.

Soul Forge

If you weren't too keen on the soul gem system in Skyrim, then it's time to go Soul Forge on it's ass. The Soul Forge allows you to use a new spell, Soul Snare, to capture souls without the need of soul gems. The captures souls are held in the Soul Forge until you need them. Stop by the forge with your soul gems and stock up or use the souls to fortify your stats.

This mod packs a whole bunch into what you can do with captures souls and really adds a Pokemon-esque "gotta catch 'em all" mentality.

Neiheleim

Neiheleim adds a beautiful area of floating islands to an area near Riverwood. The mod is a work in progress, but you can download it now and head up to the floating islands. The modder plans on adding backstory, quests and much more. For now, head up the floating islands, appreciate their beauty, throw some enemies off the sides and maybe fight a dragon or two. The epic scale of it all is completely worth it.
