If years are like relationships then 2007 was the love of many gamer's lives. Now that it's over, it's hard to look at 2008 as anything more than a rebound year. You know... you fall madly in love right away only to realize later on that things will never be as good as they once were. Even with some guaranteed hits looming on the horizon - Grand Theft Auto IV anyone? - last year will be a tough one to top. Granted, not every videogame licensed from a comic book movie has been terrible. But still, the ratio is pretty lousy: Batman Begins, Fantastic Four (take your pick on which one), X-Men: The Official Game, Superman Returns, etc. versus Spider-Man II and... well... that's pretty much it. Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Hellboy are all set for this year. If past trends are any indication, two out of three will be a bust and the third will be bearable. Still, one can always hope...
