This November's Assassin's Creed: Revelations will serve as the final chapter in the life of Master Assassin (and bona fide ladies man) Ezio Auditore as he makes his way into Ottoman Constantinople for one final, bloody mission. And although Ezio's journey may be coming to an end, Ubisoft certainly intends to keep the franchise going long after Ezio joins Altair in that Great Assassin's Guild in the sky -- but which historical era can fans look forward to next? Given the gameplay mechanics, most longtime Assassin's Creed fans have been howling for a chapter that takes place in the age of samurais and ninjas. It makes sense. A huge part of the game is stealth, the architecture of the era could make for some awesome Leaps of Faith, and short of the Ninja Gaiden franchise, there's surprisingly not that many solid games featuring everyone's favorite silent assassins. Hopefully, Ubisoft will add this to their list of era ideas for future Assassin's Creed games.

About a year or so ago, a fan-made promo poster for "Assassin's Creed III" hit the web, which even the major gaming websites believed to be leaked art for an upcoming chapter of Assassin's Creed. Alas, Ubisoft broke our hearts confirming that it was indeed a fake, but since then, fans have grown attached to the idea of a Revolutionary taking down the bourgeoise. Vive la Assassins!

It's never really said in the games when, exactly, everything happening with Desmond Miles is taking place, but our best guess is it's sometime in the not-too-distant future. And although Revelations promises to answer all of our questions about "Subject 17," who wouldn't love to play a neo-futuristic, cyberpunk take on the franchise filled with awesome weapons and stealth tech.

DC Comics/Wildstorm's recent comic mini-series Assassin's Creed: The Fall served as an excellent side story to the overall lore, and having seen Nikolai Orelov getting the dirty work done in Tsarist Russia, plenty of gamers are now dying to see that world come to life in video game form. Not to mention, this takes place during the time of Nicola Tesla (who was mentioned in a few of the glyph puzzles in Assassin's Creed II) so he could serve as Orelov's DaVinci, offering him cool steampunk weapons to help the cause.

If you'll recall, one of the Assassin's immortalized in Mario's underground Assassin's Tomb was Wei Yu, a member of the Chinese Assassin's Guild who killed the tyrannical Emperor Qin Shi Huang, a tyrant who oppressed the people of China. Could we possibly see an Assassin's Creed game that takes place before the Biblical times of Altiar filled with high flying kung-fu action?
