Who is David Hasselhoff? Is he Mitch Buchanon? Is he Michael Knight? Is he the dude who sang "Looking for Freedom" while standing on the Berlin Wall just a month after it was toppled? David Hasselhoff is all these guys. He knows it, and he knows you know it. Now he's also Dewie Streudel, the top-heavy, tangerine skinned fighter in Atari's Ready 2 Rumble: Revolution. We talked to the legend a week before the game is set to drop, and he went off on everything from Baywatch in the Muslim world to his rumored Oasis cover album to everyone's favorite topic, chest hair.
David Hasselhoff: I don't know. That's the first thing I said, "Am I the only crazy celebrity that's gonna promote this?" And they were like, "No, No." So I was like, "I'm your first choice then." And they said, "Yeah!" And I said, "That's a good answer." I might as well have gotten involved in the game because they were gonna do it anyway.
Which character is yours?
David Hasselhoff: Dewie Streudel. I saw the character and I thought it was hysterical. I thought it was hysterical.
Do you have any special moves you're aware of?
David Hasselhoff: Yes I do, the flip move. It's where I attack you like a dolphin. I realized this yesterday and I was like, "Whoah this is awesome!" I flip down on the ground and attack you like Flipper, or a seal, and there's no way you can stop the flip move of Dewie Streudel! I knocked out Syphon Cruel, Simon Cowell's character, which is funny because I think that's how we should handle our contract. Instead of these attorneys making the money, Dewie Streudel should go up against Syphon Cruel, and I'll be like "I want a bigger back-end! Dooo! Doooo! [video game fighting sounds]."
