Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies DLC Map Review

This Zombies add-on leaves a little to be desired, but it's a big improvement.

$5 for one map is too much or you just can't get into iPhone controls.

Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies for the iPhone picked up some DLC last week in the form of a new map, "Verruckt." Unlike the original map "Nacht der Untoten," which was a little thin on content (you were in one room just fighting off the never-ending horde) this $5 map packs a bit more of a punch.

Verruckt shines because it's story driven and gives you something to do other than make headshots. You'll strategically guide your inevitably doomed soldier through the facility, opening up doors and wings of the building in stages, finally starting the power generator. Best of all, you can use the electricity as a defensive weapon to hold off the zombies and propel yourself into higher and higher stages.

The tasks made this map far more dynamic than the original base package and provided far more fun than just surviving in a room. It makes you wonder why they didn't do something like this in the beginning or throw this in with the original $10 package.

Unfortunately CoD:WaW: Zombies's biggest shortcoming is its price. Spending $15 on two maps for a slightly-above-average shooter is asking a bit too much.

But if you've been craving more zombies, especially Nazi zombies, pick up your iPhone, smudge the screen with your too-fat thumbs and take some headshots.
