Best Silent Protagonists In Video Games

The best kind of hero is the kind that gets the job done without a bunch of babble in between. In some cases, an epic journey of life or death can be completed with a few sighs and a couple of grunts. That is what makes a true hero. Here are the best silent protagonists in video games!

What makes a hero? Is it the way he selflessly volunteers to save the world? The way he dedicates his life to getting the job done? Or is it his everlasting sense of justice? In all honesty, none of this matters if the guy won't shut the hell up about it. Seriously, have a little modesty, dude. Yeah you saved the world, but I don't need to hear about it every three minutes, alright?

At the end of the day, it's the heroes that don't have much to say that mean the most to me. Those dudes saving the princess, fighting the bad guy, thwarting evil and staying calm and collected while they do it. I'm looking at you Nathan Drake. Can you swing on a vine with reminiscing about something? Enough with the commentary; I get it, you've been doing this for a while. Check out the best silent protagonists in video games. If you're lucky, one day, you'll be as stoic as these guys.

Gordon Freeman

Rise and shine Mr. Freeman, rise and shine. Gordon Freeman has been through all kinds messed up shit throughout the Half-Life series. He's seen his lab overrun by creatures from another dimension, the mass oppression of society by an alien overlord and his friends and colleagues turned into zombies. Does Freeman complain about any of this? No; he simply asks where his HEV suit and crowbar is and gets to business. This scientist turned savior somehow knows his way around every type of weapon, can take on Black Ops marines with ease and can control the mysterious ant-lion aliens by squeezing on a pod.

How Freeman doesn't freak out every time G-Man stops the universe to talk to him is just another example of Freeman going with the flow.
