11 | Huffer |
Generation 1 mini-bot Huffer was one of the more defined personalities of the original series of Autobots - the depressive truck always had a pretty crappy outlook on the world. In the Russian dub of the cartoon, his name translates to "Whiner." Often paralyzed by crippling depression, the Huff usually managed to pull through and get the job done. I'm sure that Michael Bay would have the genius idea to take his unfortunate name literally, depicting him hiding out in the Autobot garage inhaling solvents off of a crumpled rag.
10 | Metroplex |
A lot of criticism was weighed against the first two Transformers movies when they showed robots transforming into ridiculous crap like cell phones and computers. But that swings both ways - in the old-school days, we had robots who changed into things as crazy as cities. Metroplex was a gigantic robot who transformed into a whole Autobot City. Can you imagine how a live-action representation of a whole city changing into a robot would own? It'd be like that bit in Inception only it would make sense.
9 | Astrotrain |
In some of the ancillary materials that have been produced to support Dark Of The Moon, Astrotrain has featured prominently, so there's a remote possibility that we might see him on screen. Which is good, because he's one of the most absurd Decepticons ever. Having a warrior who can transform into a space shuttle is totally awesome - escape Earth's orbit, set up some satellites to control Humanity, call it a day. But (as you might guess from his name) Astrotrain doesn't stop there. He can also change into... a train. Which is useless unless there are some train tracks around. But if there are, the forces of good had better watch out!
