Amnesia is so great. Anytime you wake up from a night full of bad ideas and worse consequences, you can always wipe the slate clean by pretending you don't remember anything. It's a common plot device in fiction as well. Characters with no memory are on an even keel with the audience, so when they discover stuff, we all discover it together. Amnesia is also a good way to examine a character at his or her core because without memory, we lack personal connections and culture. As a result, many evil people become good guys once they have amnesia. It's probably not true, but it sure is uplifting. Here are our favorite movies with amnesia.
