Superman: The Motion Picture Anthology |
The real draw of this set - which collects every Superman movie ever made, including alternate versions of the first two films - is, of course, Superman IV: The Quest For Peace. Clearly the best, most faithful tale of Clark Kent's epic adventures ever told, The Nuclear Man...
Okay, just kidding. The real draw is Superman Returns. Singer just NAILED it.
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines |
Sure, T2 is the master-work, but Terminator 3 is a damn good, underrated action movie with some outstanding set pieces, and one of the bleakest endings of a mainstream action film, ever. That's a good thing, by the way.

Firefly |
Home video is really the only way to watch Joss Whedon's late, lamented space western. The show was originally broadcast out of order, leading to even Whedon die-hards (your faithful writer included) abandoning Serenity before its time. The Blu-ray sets that all right, giving the picture and sound and upgrade, as well as presenting the whole series in pristine HD format.

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights |
One of the best entries from DC's Animated Universe, Emerald Knights highlights six tales from the Green Lantern Corps, all told by the guy who should have been Green Lantern in the feature film: Nathan Fillion. In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night, This Blu-Ray Should Not Escape Your Sight.

The Twilight Zone |
As if it wasn't insane enough how many classics are in the first season of The Twilight Zone (seriously, name an episode of the series... Yup, it's in there) - the Blu-ray has an entire other dimension of extras. Most notably? The never before released pilot, "The Time Element." A must-have collectible.

The Ultimate Matrix Collection |
In case you couldn't figure it out for yourself, the Wachowski Brothers groundbreaking scifi trilogy is a must have if you want to show off your HD set-up. With superb video and sound, returning to Zion never looked so good. Plus, there's a ton of extras, including a ninety-four minute documentary looking behind the scenes of nearly every day of filming all three movies.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog |
Joss Whedon's smash hit web series is good enough on its own. But snag the Blu-ray, and you get "Commentary: The Musical!" which features the cast and crew singing about the Writer's Strike that was the impetus to make the web series in the first place. There's also a bunch of fun BTS with the spirited cast, and auditions from fans for The Evil League of Evil. Plus, Neil Patrick Harris, you guys.

Star Wars |
Let's get this out of the way: this is all the movies in the most recent, updated format. So Greedo shoots first, Jabba gets animated, and Hayden Christensen is hanging out at the final Ewok party. That said, did you really want a grainy, old transfer of the series on Blu-ray? Heck no. The set doesn't even come out until September, but let's be honest: you basically already bought it in your head.

Inception |
The best movie starring a spinning top ever made, Inception takes you to a dream within a dream within a dream, and leaves you there. Mind-bendingly trippy, and gorgeously filmed by Director Christopher Nolan and Academy Award winning cinematographer Wally Pfister... Who wouldn't want to see Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page dodge folding cityscapes on Blu-ray?
Plus, the signature "BWAAAAAAAAAAAAW," is a great way to blow out your speakers. If you want to do that for some reason.
