I'm Dr Harrry Long MD (retired) and one of my passions throughout my professional career has been delving into the many conflicting and often incorrectly assumptions about diet and nutrition and what makes for a healthy human being and what does not.

I've made it my mission to know as much about nutrition and the human digestive and metabolization process as I can.

That's so I can truly serve my patients with honest advice on healthy eating and not just hand out meds for ailments that can be better treated by a good diet.

Battling Obesity

I've seen this latest obesity epidemic sweeping through the country over the last three decades and have concluded that a large number of people are simply not eating healthy food any more. They rely too heavily on convenience foods that are mostly packaged, processed and full of unhealthy additives.

I know how to eat healthily and have spent many years sharing my knowledge with my patients and with friends and family. Most listen and many take action, but far too many choose not to. They find it hard to believe that food they buy in the store is anything but good for them!

Well, I know better, that's for sure! The way to a healthy body that is close enough to its correct weight to look good is through eating right and getting some daily exercise out in the fresh air.

Why Nutrisystem?

However, that isn't much help to the many thousands of very overweight and obese people that are looking for a magic pill to save them while they refuse to give up their hamburgers, fries, pizza, hot dogs, donuts, cakes, cookies, candies and soda to wash it all down with!

For them, a program like Nutrisystem, while not the perfect solution is at least a very effective one that has proved itself through it many successes.

For that reason, I'm looking closely at this program as a way for many people to at least get their weight down to a manageable level where they can take over and start eating healthier food and getting the exercise they need.
