SPECTACULAR
Aside from the Grand
Prix this month, here
are other events
worth checking out
full moon
fever
Celebrate mid-autumn
with mooncakes, lantern
processions and dragon
dance performances
Mention the Mid-Autumn
Festival in September (it falls
on the 27th this year), and the
first thing that comes to mind is
the mooncake. But iconic pastry
aside, the festival offers you
an excuse to stay out at night.
It’s also known as the Moon
Festival, after all — a time when
the moon is admired and said
to be at its prettiest.
In Singapore, you can catch
a lantern procession and a
Chinese arts festival; while
in Hong Kong, you’ll be
treated to lantern carnivals
and exhibitions at Victoria
Park and other parts of
the city. Don’t miss the
fire dragon dance at Tai
Hang, Causeway Bay from
September 26 to 28 —
where the locals will parade
a 67m-long dragon full of
incense sticks.
