Although5G isnotyet available to thepublic,
there isa5GTestNetwork, locatedat the
premisesofVTTTechnicalResearchCentre
ofFinlandand theUniversityofOulu.This
network isbeingused forR&Dand testing
inarealistic5Gnetworkenvironment;
enablingresearchers todevelopand test
newapplications, services, algorithms,
technologies, andsystems.
On29February, the city
ofOulu,Nokia, andmany
otherpartners, launchedan
international competition
called the 5GFWD Innovation
Challenge, askingdesigners,
enterprisesand students to
comeupwith ideasof how
5G technology couldbebest
utilised inour everyday lives. It
ismadeupof three categories, twoofwhich
areopen toanyone,while the third–Health
Goes 5G– isaimedmoreat businesses. If you
