THEMOST IMPORTANTFLIGHTOFTHEYEAR
AtNorwegian, webelieve that everybody shouldbeable toafford tofly.
Wealsobelieve that everybody is capableofmaking adifference.
Togetherwithour partnerUNICEFandour passengers, Norwegianhas
madeaneffort tohelpSyrian refugeechildren.
InearlyNovember, ourmost important flight of the year tookoff for
Amman, Jordan.WithuswereUNICEF representatives, ahandful of
dedicatedNorwegianemployees andmore than 13 tonnesof school
supplies andother emergency aid. Thefinal destinationwas theworld’s
second-largest refugeecamp, Za’atari, not far from theSyrianborder –
home to80,000people, half of themchildren.
Seeing thechildren in school whileusing the school suppliesdonated
byour passengersmade it clear thecontributionwehavemade together
trulymakes adifference. I ama strongbeliever and supporter of equal
rights, and tomy joy I sawbothboys and girls are receiving aneducation
inZa’atari. Thechildrenwere full of hope for abetter tomorrow. They
wanted tobecome teachers, doctors, lawyers andevenpilots.
The goal is that Syria’s childrenwill onedaybeable to support
themselves and rebuildcommunities aspillarsof anewSyria. Through
donating school supplies andother emergency aidwecanhelpprevent a
lost generationandmake sure thesechildren get the future theydeserve.
Yesterday thechildrenof Syriawere safe in their homes, today they are
fleeing fromwar and terror, and togetherwehave given themhope for a
better tomorrow. Aftervisiting thechildren inZa’atari I can tell youone thing:
your donationsmakeadifference! Readmoreabout the trip fromp90.
