Chiang Rai is Thailand’s northernmost city and
one of it’s most historic – it was the original
capital of the ancient Lanna Kingdom. It’s also
known as the gateway to the wild beauty and
jungle-clad mountains of Chang Saen and the
infamous Golden Triangle.
As of 28 March, Bangkok Airways makes it
easier to visit this enchanting region by offering
two non-stop flights per day between Bangkok’s
Suvarnabhumi Airport and Chiang Rai using
162-seat Airbus A320s. The morning outbound
flight (PG231) departs Bangkok at 07.35hrs while
the evening flight (PG235) departs at 18.05hrs.
Return flights from Chiang Rai are at 11.05hrs
(PG232) and 20.10hrs (PG236).
