Conveyor and Cross Transfer Chutes

Conveyor Systems

The EMS Lift & Carry as well as the EMS Continuous chain cross transfers have a lifting capacity up to 5' tons per section. They can also be built up to 60 feet in length. These units can be used as either standard transfers (in and out of a roller conveyor), or as through transfers (going through a datum line). These units can be customized to fit the dimensions and requirements of your shop.

Both the EMS Lift & Carry & EMS Continuous Cross Cross Transfers can lift up to 5' tonnes per section. They are available as both standard transfers (in/out a roller conveyor) as well as through transfers, which go through the datum. These units can be made to order according to the size and specifications of your shop.

A PLC manages the control unit. It can regulate loads to be transferred at 90 degrees to either side, or along a straight path that is based on logic/sensor input. The whole system can be integrated with both downstream and upstream equipment.

Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. has a range of cross transfer / cross transportation handlers that can be tailored to your needs. These machines are robust and well-engineered to transfer loads efficiently.

Why do we deduct TDS

Engineered systems cover a variety of units that work cohesively to enable storage and transportation. They are often automated. A good example of an engineered system is an Automated Storage and Retrieval System, often abbreviated AS/RS, which is a large automated organizational structure involving racks, aisles and shelves accessible by a “shuttle” system of retrieval. The shuttle system is a mechanized cherry picker that can be used by a worker or can perform fully automated functions to quickly locate a storage item’s location and quickly retrieve it for other uses.

When designing a material handling system, it is important to refer to best practices to ensure that all the equipment and processes—including manual, semi-automated and automated—in a facility work together as a unified, system. By analyzing the goals of the material handling process and aligning them to guidelines, such as the 10 Principles of Material Handling, a properly designed system will improve customer service, reduce inventory, shorten delivery time, and lower overall handling costs in manufacturing, distribution and transportation. These principles include:
