Free Programs
Even though treatment centers are expensive, many facilities offer payment assistance or sliding fees scales. Other facilities offer programs for free, funded by state taxes. These programs sponsored by the state often have long waiting lists.
For those in recovery, support groups such as Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous can be a great option. These 12-step programs have helped millions to get sobriety over the past six decades through regular meetings. There are some faith-based organizations that offer free treatment.
