The Google auto suggestion keyword research tool

Have you noticed that when you type a word into the search box on Google that a dropdown list of closely related terms appears. Normally the one you are after is in that list, so you click on it. Most people find this very helpful. It is called the Auto Suggestion Tool. It takes its information from the words used by other people searching Google, during the past month.

It is also used by content writers to very quickly get ideas for topics to write an article about. Take for example the situation the Welsh beef farmer found himself in, that I covered in the previous page. He had to find out what his potential customers, who were interested in beef sausages, wanted to read about. He sold six different flavored beef sausages. He did not know how he was going to write six different product description articles on the individual product pages. A sausage is a sausage. I showed him what happened when he entered the words beef sausage into the Google search box.

a quick keyword research tool is the Google auto suggestion drop down box

The second entry on the drop down list was beef sausage recipes. He now knew what to write about. People searching for beef sausage recipies would hopefully stumble upon his recipe pages, like what they see, and then buy some organic black beef cattle Welsh sausages from him. The other items on the list, beef sasuage rolls and beef sausage casseroles, could be the subject titles of future blog posts. Enter the keywords associated with your website into the Google search box and see what appears. You might be quite shocked. Many website owners are too close to their brand and think they know the words that their customers would use to search with on Google. I have found a lot of times they are wrong. Many use too technical terms that the public do not have in their normal day to day vocableray

Try the Keword research tool called Google trends

Google has a tool called Google Trends. It plots on a map of the world where certain keywords are trending and more importantly where they are not. It also shows you which keyword term is used more than others and on a graph shows you the rise and fall in propularity. You can change the map to show smaller areas of the world to get a more detailed result. Like the Keyword Planner and the Auto Suggestion Tool, the Google Trend tool can help you decided on what subject matter to target your blog, article or product description. Writing about the subject people are searching for and using the same keywords they use will give you the chance of reaching the most potential readers.
