Don't use Flash or think about trying to cheat Google
If you still have Flash
software on your website get rid of it. Apple's Steve Jobs, some time ago, decided that it would not work on the iPhone. There
are a lot of iPhone users. None of them will be able to
view your flash content. That is a good enough reason not to use it but it is also not very good for SEO. Google's Search Engine Algorithm has problems crawling and indexing the content contained on those pages. As a
result visitors are not directed to that page.

Don't even think about trying to cheat Google's terms of Service. It is not worth it. You may get a very short boost in your search engine result page position but that will not last. Your pages will be permanently downgraded and visitors will not find your pages. Google's main concern is to find the best relevant websites that matches their users search request, that has unique, high quality content.

Remember not to use keyword stuffing
as a technique to try and get your page a higher position on the search engine result pages. A keyword should not be used more than six times on a page. That includes the page Meta data title and the heading h1 title. That leaves four chances of
using that word in your text. If you use keywords too many times Google will look at your page and downgrade it, because it believes you are trying to cheat the system.

Do not use irrelevant keywords
in an attempt to gain more visitors to your pages. In the past webmasters have flooded their pages with very popular keywords in the hope of
deceiving people into clicking onto their pages. An example
of this would be if you owned a local Italian restaurant and
you used the keywords Pizza Hut
or Pizza Express
throughout your website to try and steal those companies customers. If you owned a small fashion boutique in a village and you used the name Taylor Swift
, Justin Bieber
or Vogue
a lot
then they would be considered irrelevant keywords.

Using hidden text is another banned black hat
technique to try and use unconected keywords on your site to attract customers. In the past many website designers and SEO companies would use add long lists of keywords at the bottom of a page but make them invisible to the visitor. The words would be hidden from view becasue they would be white on a white background. The other banned technique is website Cloning. The idea here is to have different copies of the same website apear in position one, two, three and four on a search engine result page for a certain keyword. They website owner wants to try and own
the results page to maximise the chance of getting traffic to one of his websites. All they do is slightly change the website address, title and description.
