Defining a Transport Route
Previous Topic  Next Topic

Transport routes are used to define the distance, locations, and times of a delivery route from a supplying MRP area to a Ship-To MRP area. A transport route is the path an item takes when being transported from one MRP Area to another MRP Area, outside of the consuming plant.

It is also possible to interface to a Transport Management System (TMS) to import transport route codes and definitions.

Prerequisites to creating route definitions:

  1. Define Transport Partners.
  1. Define Locations with address information.
  2. Define Delivery Patterns

To define a transport route:

  1. Access Transport Routes using the Advanced menu. Click Item Tracking > Routes.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter the Route ID.
  4. Enter the Description.
  5. Enter the Location Start.
  6. Click Create.
  7. Click Return.
