Creation of an Item Unit of Measure Record

An Item Unit of Measure record automatically gets created if a calculation is attempted by the system and an error occurs because unit of measures are not convertible. If during the calculation, units of measures involved in the formula are not convertible using the standard unit of measure table than an entry will be made in the Item Unit of Measure table. The application creates an item unit of measure record with a defaulted conversion factor of one and continues to process. The application will also designate a unit of measure error has occurred in various sessions of the application. See Unit of Measure Error Notations.

In the below example, an entry was made in the Item Unit of Measure table because a conflict between using "EA" and "LB" could not be resolved using the standard Unit of Measure table within the application.
