Welcome to my e-portfolio. I started this site as part of my work toward a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction Educational Technology Concentration at the University of South Carolina. I earned my degree in May of 2020. My research focused on game design-based learning and its impacts on student creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. I have an interest in how technology can best be used in the K-12 setting, and how teachers can fluidly and efficiently integrate technology into the work that we do. I have used gaming in my classroom and have found that when students get deeply into the strategies of the game, their learning can be profound. They reach that ah-ha moment, where they start making connections and can see the broader implications of the work they are doing.
