Birds

So, it must be noted that this was a cycling trip, not a birding trip.  However, we kept our eyes open, and saw a few nice birds anyway.  Here are a few.
And, our bird list is available!

Paradise Shelduck (female)

Pied Shag

Red-billed gull

Pied Oystercatcher

Variable Oystercatcher

White Heron (not a Great Egret)

New Zealand Pigeon (Kereru)

Fiordland Crested Penguin

He's moving out!

Tui

Unknown egg, may be from the
pigeon

More penguins on the march
(is it called a goose step if
a penguin does it?)

This one decided to go back uphill,
laboriously

Morepork Owl (so-named
because of its call), in captivity

A Kea, in captivity

Another Kea

Red-fronted Parakeet, in
captivity

Black-billed gull

Black-billed gull, one more time
