Valentine's Day - The Farce of it all

As a pre-emptive strike to the lack of cards on the 14th, I set up my master plan just to cause a little recognition. As I was listening to Claire Sturgis (Radio 1 DJ) the night before she mentioned that as her e-mail was down you would have to send the e-mail by fax if you wanted to get to her.

The trap was set as the idea started brewing in my mind. I Fax-Mailed Claire telling her that I would really love to get a valentines from her. In fact the best way to do this was to Fax-Mail me back. I told her the way to do this was this.

To : submissions@interflora.com
Subject : Happy Valentine's love Claire.
Then in the body put this ...
SUB:XXX-XXXX-XXXX;TYPE:4;010011

the X's were my credit-card number, but she didn't know that. She just thought it would be cool to send an E-mail to me that would come out as a FAX. But in fact she was doing something even cooler than that, as you can see I had faked my address to the one of interflora. This meant that on the morning of Valentines, I got a bunch of flowers with the message, "Happy Valentine's, Guess Who?" She changed the message. So in fact what she had done was much cooler, than an e-mail that came out as a fax, she had sent an e-mail that came out as a bunch of flowers. Cool Huh.

Well, you may be wondering why this is a groan. Well, it's a groan because I didn't actually think of this until the evening of the 14th, a Friday when Claire isn't on the radio anyway. So I didn't get any cards or flowers, so Valentines failed me again, or maybe I failed Valentines ?
