When should we avoid Panama City Beach

Is Shell Island Worth It

We love our local dolphins and want them to flourish for future generations to enjoy. We wish they would be as excited to see us as we are to see them! But unfortunately, that would mean that they are being fed by people on boats, which is not only illegal but ultimately dangerous for the dolphins.

The St. Andrews State Park is home to the Shell Island's western half. It's as Florida as it gets. This means you won't stop at a concession stand, or even at a picnic bench. However, you will be able to see some the most beautiful and untouched wildlands on the East Coast. Enjoy the chance to view endangered species.

These wild animals do what they love in their natural habitat. We observe these animals on their terms, and are sensitive to their moods and activities. It is possible to have encounters quite often, but it is impossible to guarantee that they will happen. The laws of The Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1973 and its subsequent amendments as well as the laws of Florida are ours. We are forbidden from harassing or feeding dolphins. Thank you for understanding.

Amazing 3 hour tour! Captain made sure that we saw dolphins, and even took us up to a shipwreck. It was great fun for the kids to snorkel on Shell Island. It is highly recommended for all ages.

The habitats include tropical fish, crabs, rays, sea turtles, and, if lucky, bottle nose dolphins. Snorkel gear can be rented at the Jetty Store. Or you can get it as part a package with Shuttle tickets on a Shell Island Snorkel Tour.

Agree with above, go around 11 a.m., to get the best of daytime sun, because April has some fairly cool days. over a year ago. I'd plan for late morning/early afternoon. There's no shade so if it is really warm you don't want to be there at the absolute hottest part of the day.

Every year, visitors flock to the white sands of Panama City Beach, and each year they are joined by some 200 different species of shark. Both are drawn to the area's crystal clear waters and abundant sea life. The double sandbar system at Panama City Beach creates a deep water channel close to shore
