The tools of a plasterer include the hawk. It is a small rectangular board for plastering brickwork or making point. Because it stops plaster from leaking onto your hands while you use your trowel, the hawk makes a great hand tool. The pointing hawk (also known as the hawk for plasterers) is used to attach small amounts mortar to the walls.
Be sure to get rid of any mildew or mold before you attempt to fix a ceiling that has been damaged. Stain-blocking primers, like shellac can be used. After you have finished patching the area, you can then paint it over. It might be difficult to imagine this, but there are many types of ceiling texture available.
