ENJOY INDUSTRIAL
WASTE?
Few people would list “sludge and
man-made waste” among their
favourite things, but then, David
Lynch isn’t most people. The most
recent photography exhibition
from the cult-creator-cum-auteur-
cum-professional-eccentric,
The Factory Photographs
, explores
his love of what he calls “the
haunting cathedrals of a bygone
era”. Brooding and moody, they’re a
must for Lynch fans, obviously, and,
erm, all other manufacturing by-
product enthusiasts.

BECOME MORE AWARE
Wearable tech is all the rage these days, but how about something that – instead
of recording your vital stats or receiving email – challenges your very conception
of time? DURR is a Scandinavian-designed bracelet that buzzes every five
minutes. Don one for the best way to find out if time really does fly when you’re
having fun (€90 from skreksto.re).

BRING THE SUNSHINE
There aren’t many beach brands that would thrive in
the Alps. The market for Havaianas isn’t exactly
booming, and anyone opening a bikini business
would be thought optimistic, if not downright crazy.
So the team behind Ibiza Rocks the Snow are putting
it out there with their first Alpine rave-up, heading to
Méribel, France, this month. The line-up so far is TBC,
but with the Ibiza Rocks stable of DJs, not to mention
club takeovers, street parties and retro-gear rental,
this particular Balearic import may very well be a
contender for best ski festival of the season.
