SEE SPLODGES
Not everyone understands Jackson Pollock’s giant splotchy artworks
(above)
, but
according to the curators of news
Revolutionary Roads
exhibition, Danish artist Asger Jorn
was on the same wavelength. Visitors to the Louisiana Gallery will be able to compare and
contrast the two slap-happy daubsters and – just maybe – make head or tail of their work.

GET A BLAST OF THE 80s
It may be made of cardboard, but there’s nothing
ghetto about this new portable sound system.
Be assured the make-it-yourself, 80s-styled Berlin
Boombox (€65), which can be plugged into any
smartphone or mp3, is still down with the kids.

DRINK SOME FOOT WATER
Doesn’t sound alluring? What if we told you
foot water – or
água pé
– is actually an alcoholic
drink created from grape remains after they’ve been
pressed? Yes, we thought that might sway it. The
beverage is traditionally consumed in Portugal as part
of Magusto, a chestnut festival held in honour of St
Martin’s Day. The mini-carnival, which unsurprisingly
also includes a roasted chestnut or two, celebrates
the maturation of the year’s wine production.
