design, which was so far ahead of its time when it wa
built in the 1970s that we’ve still not quite caught up.
Developed by architect Paul Andreu, Charles de Gaul
was conceived as a radical new airport model. Termi
2, shown here, consists of a “village”of mini-terminal
linked by underground passageways.

Josep Llorens Artigas,
it’s composed of 4,86
handmade terracotta
tiles, each 26x38cm, a
weighs in at 30 tons.
