Adriàhas beenworking on anew range of products
under thename ‘LaCala’, currently available inBodega
1900, whichwill soonhave a small shopbeside it to sell the
range of 24products, including canned seafood, olives,
almonds, apepper sauce, potato crisps and even ahigh-
end sangria. “This isn’t aboutme just puttingmy name on
products,” he says. “We’ve spent years developing the
recipes for everything. I’mparticularlypleasedwith the
sangria, whichmy headbarmanhas done. I’d like to
rescue its reputation andprove it’s not just for tourists.”
BeyondBarcelona, themost pressingproject is the
opening of HEART in Ibiza this July, adecade-in-the-
making collaborationwithCirqueduSoleil founder Guy
Laliberté, in Ibiza’sGranHotel.
“We’re going to try to givepeople the opposite of
what they’re expecting fromus,” he says of the concept
that, for fivemonths each year, will combine livemusic,
performance art and food, the latter involving
streetmarket stalls in addition to a 160-seat dining
area. “I don’t like theword restaurant for it because it’s
not really going tobe a restaurant. It’s not about a table
with food anddishes, it’s going tobe verydifferent. Each
of theparts of theprojectwill have theirmoment during
thenight and theywill not overlap.”
