thananyotherDJ. How importanthas the
festival been toyour career?
Tomorrowlandhas been an amazing part ofmy
story as aDJ. I have been lucky enough tobe a
resident formany years now, and I also curatemy
own stage, V-Sessions, where I am joinedby some
of the hottest talent around. It’s a real privilege to
be askedback: the crowd, themusic and the
production all make for themost incredible vibe.
Whatdoes it feel like toplayaneventonsuch
anepicscale?Doyouhave towork thecrowd
differently towhenyou’replayingaclub?
The art of DJing is being able to read the crowd
anddeliver a setwhichmakes themwant toparty,
so youdo adjust according to the environment.
At the same time, youhave a sound that people
expect you toplay– it’swhy they’re your fans
in the first place, and themost important thing
is tomake themhappy.
Whathasbeen themostmemorablemoment
of the festival for youover theyears?
Playing themain stage at TomorrowlandBrazil
thisMay for sure. The site ismagical, surrounded
by palm trees, and therewere fireworks duringmy
show: amazing!

Of course itwas a really bigmoment. I hadnever
expected todebut sohighly–or evenmake the
top 100 at all –because there are somany super-
talentedDJs. It’s such a nice feeling to know fans
voted forme and are supportingwhat I amdoing.
That’swhat it’s about, after all.
Whatdoyou likeaboutyourhometown
Antwerp, andwheredoyougo toparty?
My favourite thing is that all my friends live here.
I also love to relax in the Zuid andHet Eilandje
districts, which are full of restaurants andbars.
Café d’Anvers, in a 16th-century church in
Antwerp’s red-light district, andVersuz inHasselt,
are two clubs I really rate.
